New Japantown Development Proposal with Apartments, Office Space & Retail

New development news is not just reserved for downtown San Jose… Just a few blocks away from the city’s core, a new project has been proposed in Japantown. The owner of an office high-rise near Japantown is asking for feedback from the city regarding a proposal to develop a parking lot into a mixed-use project with apartments, office space, and retail. The proposal includes a structure up to 210 feet tall with 244 apartments, nearly 61,000 square feet of office space, and 731 parking spaces. The project site is currently home to a 302-space surface parking lot that serves a one-story office building at 695 N 1st Street and a 13-story office high-rise known as Civic Center. Mixed-Use Downtown Development Featuring Silicon Valley's Largest Planned Rooftop Bar Receives Approval

Approval has been granted for a mixed-use project in downtown San Jose that would feature Silicon Valley’s largest planned rooftop bar. The developer, Urban Catalyst, received city approvals on Wednesday for their project located on downtown San Jose’s historic Fountain Alley, dubbed the “Fountain Alley Building”.   The project is a six-story development is set to include 67,000 square feet of Class A office space and 19,500 square feet of retail space.
